Easter

The boys had a fun easter. After eating candy for breakfast and going to Church, we went to my mom's house and had an easter egg hunt. Jackson loved dying the eggs and finding them. We hid them for him a couple times, and then since we were done he decided to hide them by himself, and then find them....himself. Hayden loved his first real Easter Egg hunt and they have both been on a sugar high since Sunday. I will be glad when all their candy is gone. Hope everyone had a happy Easter!

Who do you think found them most eggs? Hmmm, tough one I know. I have a million pictures and I can't decide which ones to post, so here are some more:

Fun With Peanuts, Paint, and a Tent

Grandma Jones sent the boys an Easter package. They always love the packages that she sends. They love the presents inside and they also the packing peanuts. Oh how they love the peanuts. Look at the joy on Jackson's face.
Please excuse the fact that Jackson is in his underwear and Hayden is in a diaper. They are really really happy when I let them run around that way, as you can see.

Ty has had spring break for the last couple of days and so what did we do to celebrate? We painted. Fun huh? I know I know, you're all jealous. Well here's some pictures of the color, or should I say colors. It is a different color each time I look at it. It's different in the kitchen than in the living room, and it's different depending on the light. It was also a little different than what I thought I was picking out, but i like it. So much better than white. And what do I love almost as much? The fact that my husband has finally relented to get new couches, because apparently our dirty oversized sectional doesn't look as appealing anymore. I'll show pictures when it's actually decorated. Oh, and Jackson's room is a cool blue, but I haven't downloaded those yet.
And finally, I realized that I have never posted about the tent. Jackson has a Lightning Mcqueen tent and it provides endless amounts of fun, and peace for me, especially when Jackson puts his diego couch in it and watches his new favorite show, the Bee Movie.

My little baby has turned into a little boy. Excuse me while I go wipe away my tears. At least he's still adorable. More to come: Easter pictures.

Not too shabby. I thought I would be way slower since I haven't worked in the factulty support center for three years now. :) Ya, that place taught me how to type. Good times.

Hayden Got Tubes

Hayden got tubes put in his ears on Tuesday. He seems to be doing great so far. The surgery went really well and it was so fast. The Dr. told me he had another ear infection in his left ear. That would make it infection #6 or 7, I've lost count, since November, but Hayden was so good throughout the whole process. He only cried when they were taking him into the OR. They told me he would probably be hysterical and disoriented after he came out of the anesthesia, but he didn't even cry. He just cuddled with me and sucked his thumb. The nurses said he won the award for the best boy of the day. Then he came home, took a nap, and played like nothing had happened. Modern medicine is amazing. The tubes seem to be helping. He's a happy boy, and he's usually a happy boy, but at least now he's not tugging at his ears and running around with bright pink cheeks. (I don't know why, but whenever he had an ear infection, his cheeks would be bright pink all day long, but he wouldn't have a fever.) And he seems to be a little less cranky. Hopefully now his speech will pick up since he won't be hearing like he's submerged under water. Well I love our playful little guy and I'm glad that it's over. Hopefully this will help a lot and we won't have any more ear problems.

Here's a video of crazy Hayden being a ghost: (Just thought I'd throw it in there since I haven't taken any pictures in the last couple of days.)

Setbacks

So the title of this post was going to be titled "Wonder of Wonder, Miracle of Miracles" and I was going to say something about Jackson being potty trained and how he wasn't having accidents, but that was this morning. I was going to post about how Jackson filled up his potty chart and how I was so proud of him and I finally took him to jump on it. He had an absolute blast. Trampolines scare me (little kids jumping on trampolines scare me) and when there are a ton of kids also jumping on trampolines it is even more scary, but my children loved it. Of course when I got there my camera ran out of batteries, so there are no pictures, but I'm sure we'll go back. I was also going to post about how my boys have behaved so well lately and I had such a great weekend, once again, that was this morning.

So this morning Jackson slept in until 8:00. Which is really sleeping in for him. I'm actually not minding the time change. And I woke up thinking wow, my boys have been so good lately. I took them to Tremonton for their cousin Madi's birthday party and they were great. Jackson was good at Church and he has been taking naps so well. What good boys I have. We haven't had trauma for a while. Then Hayden woke up.

He was mad at the breakfast I gave him and decided to pour all his cereal and milk on his clothes. He was soaked. And then he realized he was cold, or that his cereal was gone and he started to cry, you know the build up kind, where it starts out kind of slow and just builds up to louder and louder volumes until the tears are streaming and their faces are bright pink? That's always fun, so I put him in the tub to wash the milk off, but he was still mad, so he threw a tantrun and hit his upper lip on the side of the tub and split his frenulum (The membrane between the upper gum and upper lip) Blood starts coming out of his nose and mouth. The poor child's upper lip was huge. But we recovered from that and ran some errands, and then finally, finally, it was the most glorious time of the day......naptime.

But Jackson didn't want to take a nap. Now, I am going through caffeine withdrawals, and I needed a nap, so I closed Jackson's door, and told him to go to sleep. Then I tried to take a nap and as I was peacefully drifting off, I thought, "Oh, my pottytrained boy is being so quiet. He's going to sleep. What a wonderful boy."

That thought didn't come into my head after that point in the day. Jackson didn't nap, and after cleaning, poo and pee off the floor, three pairs of pants later, and finding Jackson standing in the toilet, I no longer felt that I could blog about our potty training success. And tomorrow Hayden gets tubes. Talk about actual trauma.

Don't close the door!

Why? Why climb in a dryer? I was looking through my pictures for February and I wanted to post this picture of Hayden. He loves to get into the dryer. Don't tell Ty, he can't stand that I would let the dryer become a "toy." (Ok, Ty has actually seen this picture, so he knows, but I know how to drive him crazy.) Anyways, he only gets in when I'm doing the laundry. It's just so cute sometimes.

This picture just reminded me of a story that happened the other day. Jackson saw Hayden trying to climb in the dryer, so of course he had to push him out of the way and get in. And this time he got all the way in. Usually he just pokes his head inside and laughs, but he got all the way in and was so proud of himself. Then Hayden ran in the laundry room as fast as he could and shut the dryer door, right while I was yelling, "Don't shut the door!" (His second favorite thing to do besides getting inside the dryer.) It was so funny. Jackson has not tried to get in the dryer since then.
